How can I get this font in MS Word? The PDF says LaTeX type SKT font, but I am unable to get that font anywhere.

An essay is a piece of writing which is non-fictional, usually from an author's personal point of view. Most of the modern essays are written in prose and sometimes in verse. The essay is a literary device for saying almost everything about almost anything. Academic essays are with a word limit of about 2,000 to 5,000 words. An essay is a piece of structured writing and It will have an introduction, body and conclusion. It may be within two to ten A4 pages. It is appropriate to use a serif typeface or font for a formal style essay since it is readable and has a desired contrast. The preferable sizes are 10 to 12 point with one and half line spacing. The typefaces normally used are Athelas, Baskerville, Baskerville Old Face, Bell MT, Californian FB, Calisto MT, Cambria, Century Schoolbook, Garamond, Georgia, Charter, Goudy Old Style, Hoefler Text, Iowan Old Style, Palatino, Palatino Linotype and Times New Roman. Since your requirement is the “smallest, most condensed formal essay font” I would suggest the following typefaces in the order of increasing size in the same point size. 1. Garamond 2. Goudy Old Style 3. Baskerville, Baskerville Old Face 4. Hoefler Text 5. Athelas 6. Californian FB 7. Bell MT 8. Calisto MT 9. Cambria 10. Charter 11. Times New Roman 12. Georgia 13. Palatino, Palatino Linotype 14. Iowan Old Style 15. Century Schoolbook To sum up you may resort to Garamond 10 point with single line spacing to achieve your objectives.

Type on PDF: All You Need to Know

The above fonts may prove to fit your requirements, however I urge you to consider some suitable fonts (which are different from those above) as well. Some examples are Bell MT, Century Schoolbook (Arial) and Californian FB (Arial). However, you should avoid the following: Arial, Arial Black, Comic Sans, Comic Sans MS, Comic Sans Serif, Comic Sans Small, Comic Sans Medium, Georgia, Georgia Mono, Granite Text, Helvetica, Times Roman, Times New Roman, Verdana. One can of course use other popular fonts, but they are not considered to be ideal, and it is a long way down to get to your preferred. If you are a writer looking to write an essay for some specific degree course then choose your essay font. However, it is better to be economical in your choice. I also prefer to have a standard font set, especially if the document I want to submit has.
