Can I find a German dictionary in the form of a list containing all the words, online or PDF? I'm not interested in the search engine type of dictionary.

Well… you can try, but. It won’t be any fun It won’t be very productive Basically, you need vocabulary in order to express yourself, but without grammar and syntax, you’re not going to get anywhere. Even if you somehow memorised all the words in the dictionary, you still wouldn’t know how to put a simple sentence together. You would also run into problems with conjugation and case declination, which will both change the forms of many of your words. If this method of learning a language were actually a thing, then machine translation would have been solved a long time ago. Most importantly, this is super boring. A much better way would be the good old “learning by doing” method, maybe a language tandem/exchange where you actually get to speak, albeit in a stressless, easygoing situation. By trying out how to say things, and understanding the responses, you will build up real-life use cases for the words you have learned and feel much more confident in both your ability to converse and in your progress going forward.

Type on PDF: All You Need to Know

The above post is by no means a comprehensive discussion of the topic of foreign language acquisition or a comprehensive tutorial of how to get started. The goal of language learning, when trying to acquire any subject, is something you have to go after head on. It is not a walk, then a jog. The idea is to put yourself into a position that is nearly impossible to obtain without doing a lot of work.   This is a very good starting point if you are trying to go from a beginner learner into an intermediate or advanced learner. If you already have some knowledge of the language and feel like you have to work on it a bit in order to gain further confidence, then this is a good place to start. If you don't know what's going on, or don't know what to expect, or have the time.
